Nothing is Wasted

When I heard this song on the radio in the car, it made me start bawling.  I just found the CD at the public library and downloaded it.  The song is “Nothing is Wasted” by Jason Gray. What it says to me is that even though this loss is so awful and horribly painful, it will not be for nothing.  It will not be “wasted”.  God will use it.  Like the song says, He will plant joy in the place where I hurt and my lost Luke will be found again.  Here are the lyrics:

“Nothing Is Wasted”

The hurt that broke your heart
And left you trembling in the dark
Feeling lost and alone
Will tell you hope’s a lie
But what if every tear you cry
Will seed the ground where joy will grow

And nothing is wasted
Nothing is wasted
In the hands of our Redeemer
Nothing is wasted

It’s from the deepest wounds
That beauty finds a place to bloom
And you will see before the end
That every broken piece is
Gathered in the heart of Jesus
And what’s lost will be found again

Nothing is wasted
Nothing is wasted
In the hands of our Redeemer
Nothing is wasted
