Mothers Day

This is a card my sister gave me.  I really liked what it said.

My husband gave me neat card too.  You’ll have to excuse his grammar and lack of capitalization, but what he wrote made me laugh and smile.  While I was pregnant with Luke, Josh called him “T-bone” all the time.  He even jokingly told people that’s what we were going to name him.

ImageI guess now Luke’s little brother is “Rib eye” and Josh is “Prime Rib”.  LOL.  He’s definitely a meat eater;)

My mom made this plaque:

You ladies deserve a crown of beauty in place of your ashes!

My parents also gave me a peony bush.  My mom said it’s to plant in honor of Luke and every year when it blooms, we can think of him.  I love peonies.  We have one bush already.  It only blooms once per year and when it does, it is spectacular.  It is always around Mother’s Day, so it should bloom at Luke’s birthday each year.

My dad patted me on the shoulder and said, “You’re a mom too.  Of 2!”  We went out to lunch and instead of my sister and I splitting the check as usual, my sister and my dad split the check and I didn’t have to pay.

It was a hard day, but better than I expected.  I really appreciated being acknowledged as a mom.  I hope you guys were honored as the wonderful moms you are too.  I’d love to hear your stories if you want to share them.

  1. How sweet! My husband also got me a pink peony for Mother’s Day! I cried in the morning but smiled later as I cuddled my earthly boys. 💕
